The Marion Swamp Foxes will head out to challenge the Andrews Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Marion is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Edisto a 21-0 shutout. The win was some much needed relief for the Swamp Foxes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Kynnedi Jenkins was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Maliyah Williams was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Nevaeh Shaw also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Marion hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Andrews, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Manning on Tuesday. Considering the Yellowjackets' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
The team relied heavily on Sarah Jennings, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Karaline Gainey, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Andrews' record is now 12-5. As for Marion, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Marion hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .379. However, it's not like Andrews struggles in that department as they've averaged .389. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Marion's way against Andrews in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Marion made off with a 12-5 victory. Will the Swamp Foxes repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
