On Friday Montgomery Bell Academy's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish, sneaking past 13-10. While the Big Red didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Charlie Verner threw for 79 yards and one touchdown. Jackson Hebert was his top target, picking up 76 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, William Wade rushed for 63 yards.

Montgomery Bell Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Knoxville Catholic, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery Bell Academy will take on Baylor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Big Red will need to watch out since the Red Raiders have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Knoxville Catholic, they will challenge Silverdale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
