The Skyline Spartans will challenge the Lake Washington Kangaroos at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Washington took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Skyline, who comes in off a win.
Skyline barely beat Issaquah the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans blew past the Eagles 9-3 on Friday. The Spartans not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th.

Otis Fontonelle was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Fontonelle was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. He has been hot recently, having also posted three or more RBI the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braden Bartholomae, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Barlament, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Skyline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Lake Washington didn't have quite enough to beat Woodinville on Friday and fell 3-2.
Lake Washington also got a good showing from Shane Johnson, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits Johnson has allowed since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Lake Washington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Mehlberg, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
The win made it two in a row for Skyline and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Lake Washington, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-5.
Skyline might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Lake Washington when the teams last played back in March. Will the Spartans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
