The Cedaredge Bruins's three-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They secured a 40-35 W over Meeker. For Cedaredge, this counts as revenge for the 45-37 defeat Meeker walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Cedaredge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carley Malinowski out in front who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Malinowski hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Hanson, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Meeker lost, one person who can't be blamed is Reese Clatterbaugh. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with six rebounds and five steals. Ellie Hossack was another key contributor, scoring three points along with four steals.
Cedaredge now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Meeker, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedaredge the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Olathe at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Meeker will take on Grand Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
