Wylie waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Garland Owls 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Wylie's win bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Garland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season.

Wylie and Garland will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Pirates see the field they'll take on Lakeview Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Garland, their break will end when they face Wylie East at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
