Auburn had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 62-43 win over the Loachapoka Indians. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Indians are ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Loachapoka's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jordan Tyner, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points and three steals, and Zay Shaw, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. Those nine boards gave Shaw a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JaMichael Morris, who posted seven points.

Auburn's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Loachapoka, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Auburn will face off against Montgomery Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Loachapoka, they will take on Alabama Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
