Baseball Recap: Medford Has No Trouble Against Tomahawk

Medford won the last time they faced Tomahawk and things went their way on Thursday too. The Raiders came out on top against the Hatchets by a score of 8-5. That looming 8-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Raiders yet this season.

Parker Lissner and Hayden Strebig did most of the damage at the plate: Lissner went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Strebig went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Strebig has posted since back in May of 2024. Nick Krause also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Medford and bumps their season record up to 4-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Tomahawk, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Medford will host Mosinee at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Tomahawk, they will be playing at home against Rhinelander at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
