Even though the Antelope Rams scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, the North Valley Christian Academy Lions still came out on top. North Valley Christian Academy strolled past Antelope with points to spare, taking the game 72-58. The win was nothing new for North Valley Christian Academy as they're now sitting on four straight.
North Valley Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bobby Rodriguez out in front who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Jethro Maerina, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Antelope's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenan Ragels, who scored 17 points. Ragels is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alizay Figueroa, who scored 15 points.
North Valley Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Antelope, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3.
North Valley Christian Academy will head out on the road to square off against The Gregory School at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Gregory School will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Antelope will take on North Phoenix Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Phoenix Preparatory Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
