The Harnett Central Trojans can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They took down Western Harnett 44-28. The victory was just what Harnett Central needed coming off of a 58-36 loss in their prior match.
Harnett Central found their leader in underclassman Rylan Beasley, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Beasley pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Brown, who scored six points along with three steals.
Western Harnett struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Harnett Central pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Harnett Central's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Western Harnett, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-17.
Harnett Central will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westover has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,125 points over their last 16 matchups. As for Western Harnett, they will head out on the road to take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Pine Forest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
