St. John Bosco extended the longest winning streak in Trinity this week by beating Servite, 39-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Braves.
Santa Margarita took down JSerra Catholic 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kyle Sweet threw for 130 yards and ran for 55 yards in the win.
St. John Bosco's dynamic duo of Josh Rosen and Shay Fields proved tough for the Friars to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rosen threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns and Fields had 139 yards receiving. A.J. Holman helped St. John Bosco's passing attack out by catching five balls for 91 yards.
Treavon Coley was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 116 yards as Mater Dei bested Servite. Chase Forrest also contributed to the rushing game with 66 yards on the ground.
6-foot-3 quarterback Rosen of the Braves is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1575. He has also thrown 18 touchdowns. On the ground, the Eagles' Ryan Wolpin has rushed for 919 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is River Cracraft. The Santa Margarita star has 35 catches for 587 yards.
The marquee game in Trinity this week will be the clash between St. John Bosco and Santa Margarita. The Braves enters the game ranked fourth in the state, while Harry Welch's team ranks fifth.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when St. John Bosco takes on the Eagles. The Braves' offense has racked up 382 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Santa Margarita has allowed only 85 on the year.
Orange Lutheran's Tavi Jimmerson is a mere 90 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Jimmerson has rushed for 910 yards on 141 carries so far this year.
Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when St. John Bosco and the Eagles meet this week. The Braves features well-regarded senior Nico Falah while Santa Margarita has Johnny Stanton, a sought after senior.
There should be lots of points scored when St. John Bosco and the Eagles face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Braves comes in having scored 382 this season, while Santa Margarita has scored 311. St. John Bosco scored 39 points last week as it defeated Troy Thomas' team.
The Eagles led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on JSerra Catholic. Sweet in the win.
