Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Wauconda Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 28-21 to Belvidere North on Saturday. Wauconda's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cole Porten, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Rudolph, who gained 90 total yards and a touchdown.
Wauconda's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Belvidere North, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Wauconda does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Belvidere North will face off against Lake Zurich at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Zurich is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
