Hesston Wins Sixth-Straight Thanks to Karter Gonzalez
Hesston picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Karter Gonzalez. Gonzalez rushed for 232 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Hesston pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Gonzalez's next game is against Riley County on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Nash Wray stepped things up a notch to give Haven the 'W'. Wray was dynamite, throwing for 197 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 62 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
On the year, Wray has thrown 13 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 159.8 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had seven passing touchdowns.

Halstead Gets a Boost from Creed in 31-13 Victory
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Braxton Creed stepped things up a notch to give Halstead the 'W'. Ellsworth had no answer to Creed as he rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 137 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Halstead's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. Creed and Halstead will challenge Southeast of Saline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Another Game with at Least Two Rushing Touchdowns from Taye Wilson
Taye Wilson continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fifth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least two rushing touchdowns. He rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 43 receiving yards.
On the year, Wilson has run in 13 touchdowns while averaging 126.7 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 49.33 rushing yards per game.

Jimmy Gardner Turns in Season-Best Performance
Larned was led to victory by Jimmy Gardner, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Gardner rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run.
With the victory, Larned broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4. Gardner and Larned will be playing in front of their home fans against Hoisington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
