The El Dorado Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rose Hill. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for El Dorado in their matchups with Rose Hill: they've now lost six in a row.
Logan Garner and Tre Fanklin certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Garner scored 17 points, while Fanklin scored 11 points along with four steals. That was a full 35.4% of El Dorado's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
El Dorado's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Rose Hill, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.
El Dorado will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Augusta at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Augusta presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than El Dorado in Kansas (Augusta is ranked 128th, while El Dorado is ranked 285th). Rose Hill will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Buhler on January 30th.
