The Central Dauphin Rams had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 54-44 victory over Cumberland Valley. This was payback for Central Dauphin, who suffered a 69-53 loss the last time these two teams met.
Central Dauphin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lleyton Fried out in front who scored 16 points. Jelani Easter was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Cumberland Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nolan Buzalka, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Buzalka hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Diehl, who scored ten points.
Central Dauphin has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Cumberland Valley, their loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-2.
Central Dauphin will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mountain Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Altoona will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 485th, while the Rams are ranked 47th). As for Cumberland Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central York has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 675 points over their last nine matchups.
