Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Yuma Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amanda Wiley, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. What's more, Wiley also posted a 63% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Sadie Estes was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.
Yuma Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Coolidge against Benjamin Franklin on Thursday as the team secured a 59-20 win. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 25 points or more this season.
Yuma Catholic better keep an eye on Alaysia White. She was instrumental in Coolidge's win, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 14 boards. White is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 47 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Amaira Miguel, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Coolidge's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.5 points over those games. As for Yuma Catholic, their record now sits at 20-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Yuma Catholic has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Coolidge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 38.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Yuma Catholic beat Coolidge 53-46 when the teams last played back in February of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Coolidge's Brooklyn Pablo, who earned 18 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Now that she won't be playing on Monday, will it be easier for Yuma Catholic to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
