The Hedgesville Eagles's six-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 58-8 win over Wakefield Country Day on the road. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Hedgesville considering their 23-point performance the matchup before.
Gracie Brown was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Brown is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Yates, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Wakefield Country Day struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hedgesville pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Hedgesville's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6. As for Wakefield Country Day, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
