Softball Recap: Carbon Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Carbon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Juab Wasps a 5-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Dinos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The result came thanks to Danica Adams's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 18 Ks. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Aleece Ardohain and Alexa Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Ardohain scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Jones scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Jones also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Carbon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive games.

Carbon pushed their record up to 4-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Juab, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Carbon will challenge Beaver at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Carbon's pitchers better be ready for this one: Beaver has averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for Juab, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Manti at 3:30 p.m. on April 8.
