The ASPIRA Charter Wolves's four-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top against Varsity Opponent by a score of 59-49.
It was another big night for Zy'aire Gibson, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of ASPIRA Charter's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Lawrence, who scored five points along with 15 rebounds and two steals.
ASPIRA Charter's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Varsity Opponent, they bumped their record down to 249-955-2 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road.
ASPIRA Charter will play host again and welcome First State Military Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (First State Military Academy is ranked 55th, while ASPIRA Charter is ranked 51st). As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to square off against Tarrant at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
