Even though the Florence Huskies have not done well against the Woodland Park Panthers recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Florence claimed a resounding 75-40 victory over Woodland Park on the road. This was payback for Florence, who suffered a 57-40 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Gage Goodall was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 14 rebounds. Gunnar Phillips was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Florence has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-10 record this season. As for Woodland Park, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Florence will take on La Junta at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. La Junta is coming into the match with three straight losses on the road, meaning Florence will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Woodland Park, they will be playing at home against Lamar at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Woodland Park will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Lamar is ranked 92nd).
