The Lowellville Rockets will take on the Brookfield Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lowellville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Lowellville needed a bit of extra time to put away Western Reserve. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Blue Devils 7-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rockets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Geno Perry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Lowellville is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise. Perry was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.
In other batting news, Cody Nolfi was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Kaden Primous was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Brookfield lost 9-1 to Southeast on Tuesday.
Brookfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Hardman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Brookfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Lowellville, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lowellville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Brookfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lowellville took their victory against Brookfield when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
