On Friday, Lithia Springs came up short against Carver and fell 56-49. While losing is never fun, Lithia Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Carver is ranked 42nd).
Carver's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jakobe Caslin led the charge by scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Tony Montgomery , who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Lithia Springs' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Carver, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lithia Springs is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Villa Rica at 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd. Villa Rica has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 245 points over their last four matches. Carver and Columbus will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
