Heritage hasn't had much luck against Tuscarora recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pride will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huskies at 1:00 p.m. Heritage will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Heritage is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Dominion, sneaking past 3-2.
Cam McManus looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Heritage's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Delaney, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Tuscarora got themselves on the board against Loudoun Valley on Thursday, but Loudoun Valley never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Vikings. The game was the first time the Huskies have beaten the Vikings on their field since March 27, 2023.
Ashton Peshke looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Tuscarora is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-11 otherwise.
At the plate, Ian Sullivan was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
Heritage's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Tuscarora, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
Everything went Heritage's way against Tuscarora in their previous meeting on May 1st, as Heritage made off with an 8-2 victory. Will the Pride repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
