Trenton is on a 17-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Branford is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Trenton will host Branford at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Trenton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past West Port 15-2 last Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Addison Allaire spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trenton let Emaleigh Philmon and Madison Hinote run wild. Philmon scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Hinote went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave Philmon a new career-high. Presley Akins was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Trenton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Branford never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Suwannee on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Bulldogs. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Mallory Blue made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Blue was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jesse Frierson, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cloey Criggall, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Trenton's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Branford, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Trenton skirted past Branford 6-5 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Does Trenton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Branford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
