They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Almont Raiders on Saturday, sneaking past  1-0. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Chargers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Powers Catholic's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Almont, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the  defeat, which was their seventh straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Powers Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  1-0  victory against Mt. Morris on the 23rd. As for Almont, they will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Yale at 6:00  p.m.  on September 9.
