The Stargate School Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 33 points or more this season. They blew past Regis Groff 73-40 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-20.
It was another big night for Dylan Perkins, who scored 16 points. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Reed Schoenfeld, who scored a points along with 11 assists and five steals.
Several Fusion players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mahmoud Ibrahim, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Ibrahim's third in a row with at least ten points. Matt McCoy-Vera was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Regis Groff struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Stargate School has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Regis Groff, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stargate School will take on Colorado Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Colorado Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Stargate School in Colorado (Colorado Academy is ranked 11th, while Stargate School is ranked 122nd). As for Regis Groff, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Hinkley at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
