The Crooksville Ceramics are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Bishop Rosecrans Bishops at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Crooksville will be strutting in after a win while Bishop Rosecrans will be coming in after a loss.
Bishop Rosecrans will be up against a hot Crooksville team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Crooksville put the hurt on Miller with a sharp 17-1 victory on Monday. The Ceramics not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 27, 2024.

Elyse Baker made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Baker was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Baker is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Mylin Driggs was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Dalena Rollison, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
Crooksville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Bishop Rosecrans didn't have quite enough to beat Beallsville on Wednesday and fell 21-20.
Kerry Thompson stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Sagan, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Crooksville's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Bishop Rosecrans, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Crooksville took their victory against Bishop Rosecrans when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crooksville since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
