Agape (8 Man) recap Oct. 23, 2012
Excelsior Charter extended the longest winning streak in Agape (8 Man) this week by beating Animo Robinson, 44-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Lucerne Valley and Upland Christian Academy played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Lucerne Valley eventually emerging with a 28-26 victory. Daniel Stratton threw for 166 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 67 yards in the win.
Ejan O'Rea was the most productive running back in the league this week. In five carries, he ran for 129 yards as Excelsior Charter bested the Eagles. Kyle Washington also contributed to the rushing game with 50 yards on the ground.
Logan was the best wideout in Agape (8 Man) this week as Lucerne Valley defeated Upland Christian Academy. Logan racked up five receptions for 155 yards. Robert Rodriguez helped Lucerne Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 12 yards.
Logan made the biggest impact on defense this week as Chris Klinger's team topped Mark Williams' team. The 5-foot-9 junior grabbed one interception, forced one fumble, recorded one fumble and racked up one sack.
The Mustangs' Stratton and Logan have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Stratton has thrown for 1038 yards this season, while Logan, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 21 catches for 449 yards. Washington from Bill Rivera's team leads the league in rushing with 885 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Lucerne Valley takes on California Lutheran. As it stands, the Mustangs are in second, while the C-Hawks are in third.
