West Hardin was handed a 38-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They slipped by Colmesneil 42-41. The Oilers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

West Hardin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Hashaw, who threw for 237 yards and three TDs while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 75 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. Hashaw also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Oilers are 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-5 otherwise. 124 of Hashaw's passing yards were hauled in by Dmarques Guillory, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Meanwhile, Mt. Enterprise strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Alto, posting a 64-15 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 22 points or more this season.
Mt. Enterprise's win came from a few key players West Hardin will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Joel Otwell, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Those two rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Kaegan Ash, who rushed for 79 yards and three scores on only seven carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mt. Enterprise was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 379 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards in 17 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mt. Enterprise's defense and their six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece ( Rj Roberts, Kaden Bryant, Ryan Mckelvey, and Case Pieper also recorded half a sack). Mt. Enterprise received some extra help from Pieper, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
West Hardin's record now sits at 4-6. As for Mt. Enterprise, their record is now 10-0.
West Hardin was dealt a bruising 64-14 defeat at the hands of Mt. Enterprise when the teams last played back in September of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ash, who rushed for 192 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. Now that the Oilers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
