They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 11-4 walloping at the hands of the Sullivan West Bulldogs. Tri-Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sullivan West apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.
Colin Monell put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits. Monell was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Monell wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was James Kachelreiss, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
This is the second loss in a row for Tri-Valley and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Sullivan West, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Tri-Valley will stay at home for another game and welcome Livingston Manor at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sullivan West, they will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Port Jervis at 4:30 p.m.
