Loyola Academy won the last time they faced Saint Ignatius College Prep and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Ramblers skirted past the Wolfpack 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ramblers.

Loyola Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-20, 25-23.

Despite the defeat, Saint Ignatius College Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Matthew Wilkison had eight digs and two aces. Nick Larned also deserves some recognition as he served his first aces of the season.

Loyola Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Saint Ignatius College Prep, they dropped their record down to 7-15 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Loyola Academy and Saint Ignatius College Prep could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Ramblers (ranked 74th) will meet Oak Park-River Forest (ranked eighth) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Saint Ignatius College Prep will square off against Riverside-Brookfield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (140 vs. 45).
