Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Riverside Beavers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. Their rough 21-0 loss to Archbishop Hoban on Friday might stick with them for a while. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, Riverside couldn't push the score so high this time.
Mikey Maloney threw for 177 yards on 15 of 29 attempts. Brady Mcknight was his top target, picking up 107 receiving yards.
Riverside's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 10-3. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Archbishop Hoban, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Riverside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Archbishop Hoban will square off against Walsh Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Walsh Jesuit is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
