In what's become a running theme this season, the Northampton County Jaguars gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 55-13 win over Southeast Halifax on the road. With Northampton County ahead 30-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Michaela Hodge was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Hodge is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlice Tyner, who scored no points along with nine rebounds and nine steals.
The win (which was Northampton County's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Southeast Halifax, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Northampton County on the road again on Monday and play against North Edgecombe at 4:30 p.m. on January 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (North Edgecombe is ranked 282nd, while Northampton County is ranked 292nd). As for Southeast Halifax, they will take on Wayne Preparatory Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
