It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Rock Lions ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top against United Faith Christian Academy by a score of 73-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
JD Bowden and DJ Boyce Jr. certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Bowden dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 assists, while Boyce Jr. went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 0 assists. Boyce Jr. continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Johnson, who scored five points along with six assists.
The Rock's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for United Faith Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
The Rock will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Winter Haven at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for United Faith Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Southeastern Prep Academy Coastal at 11:45 a.m. on Friday.
