Bishop Neumann is 9-0 against Gross Catholic since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Bishop Neumann Cavaliers will head out on the road to face off against the Gross Catholic Cougars. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bishop Neumann has six straight wins, Gross Catholic has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bishop Neumann scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 75-22 win over Cornerstone Christian School on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 52-4.
Meanwhile, Gross Catholic pushed their score all the way to 63 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their rough 84-63 defeat to Boys Town might stick with them for a while. Gross Catholic was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-30.
Bishop Neumann pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Gross Catholic, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Bishop Neumann didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Gross Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 59-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Neumann since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
