Given Chatham Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Clover Garden School is ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chatham Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meah Brooks, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Brooks has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last seven times she's played. Delana Loflin was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Southern Wake Academy was beaten by River Mill 55-9 on Tuesday.
Chatham Charter pushed their record up to 19-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Southern Wake Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-18.
Everything came up roses for Chatham Charter against Southern Wake Academy in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 64-13 victory. With Chatham Charter ahead 46-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.
