Baseball Recap: Trezevant Comes Up Short

After flying high against Douglass last Wednesday, Trezevant came back down to earth. The Bears came up short against the Lakeland Preparatory Lions on Tuesday, falling 28-5. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 19-1 to the Lions when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Rickey Wright made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zavion Evans, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Trezevant now has a losing record of 4-5-1. As for Lakeland Preparatory, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trezevant will host Memphis Business Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lakeland Preparatory, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Lakeland Preparatory Lions take on Halls Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
