On Saturday, Oglethorpe County beat George Walton Academy 47-38.
George Walton Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mark (mj) Marable, who scored nine points along with five assists and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marable has scored all season. Logan Blalock was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Oglethorpe County's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for George Walton Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Oglethorpe County will be home for the holidays to greet Hart County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hart County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. George Walton Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mt. Bethel Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
