The Valley Catholic Valiants''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Elmira 42-13.
Alex Adams threw for 82 yards on six of 16 attempts. On the ground, Jackson Farris rushed for 54 yards.
Keelan Hecker was a one-man wrecking crew for Elmira as he rushed for 144 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Hecker was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Kyron Smith was another key contributor, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Valley Catholic's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-1 Kennedy and 6-3 Yamhill-Carlton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.2% over those games). As for Elmira, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Valley Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Elmira also has no future games currently scheduled.
