Softball Recap: Reading Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Reading had won five straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 10-8 to make it six. They skirted past the Waldron Spartans 13-11. The win continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won nine in a row.

Reading let Arlie Riddle and Maggie Santure run wild. Riddle went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs, while Santure went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Santure has posted since back in May of 2024. Madylynn Farkas was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Reading always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

As for Waldron, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10. Surprisingly, this marked their third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

On Waldron's side, Dakota Hoffman was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one triple. Danica Wilmoth also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Reading wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 6-3 loss against Union City on the 13th. Waldron has also already played their next game (against Pittsford), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
