Basketball Recap: Grovetown Drops Season-High Score on Glenn Hills

Grovetown extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 3-1. They blew past the Glenn Hills Spartans 72-52. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

It was another big night for Amare Pryce, who posted 27 points. His big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Dj Postell, who earned 17 points.

As for Glenn Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makhi Tutt, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 22 points. That was a full 42.3% of Glenn Hills' points, marking the fourth time in a row Tutt has put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Quail Johnson, who scored 17 points.

Grovetown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-55 loss against Evans on the 5th. As for Glenn Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-52 defeat against Warren County on the 2nd.
