Corner Canyon is 0-3 against Herriman since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Corner Canyon Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Herriman Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Corner Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday.
In what's become a running theme this season, Corner Canyon gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 75-48 win over Riverton at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Corner Canyon has posted yet this season.
Corner Canyon can attribute much of their success to Maia Rhay, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, and Elina Mortensen, who scored 33 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Mortensen has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times she's played. Brooke Luper was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Herriman unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 54-41 to Mountain Ridge.
Corner Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Herriman, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.
Corner Canyon came up short against Herriman in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 64-51. Can Corner Canyon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
