It was a good run, but Johansen unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sonora Wildcats. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Johansen lost, don't look at Wilbert Gaxiola. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Carranza, who scored nine points.

It was another big night for Luke Otterson, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds for Sonora. The dominant performance also gave Otterson a new career-high in steals (four). Quentin Solis was another key player, putting up 13 points and four steals.

Johansen's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Sonora, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Johansen wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-54 win against Escalon on the 27th. As for Sonora, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-30 victory against Oakdale on the 27th.
