It was a good run, but the Martinsville Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost to Mecklenburg County at home by a decisive 48-33 margin. Martinsville lost against Mecklenburg County in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-39 score last time.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was McKenzie Hylton, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Yoshi Moyer, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Martinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Mecklenburg County, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Martinsville will take on Morehead at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Morehead is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Mecklenburg County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Dinwiddie at 7:15 p.m. on December 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Virginia (Dinwiddie is ranked 184th, while Mecklenburg County is ranked 187th).
