Indian Valley extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping their season record up to 13-10 in the process. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Triway Titans. For the Braves, this counts as revenge for the 14-1 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.
Shelby Gossett made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Natalie Musser was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Bella Weaver was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Indian Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Triway only posted a batting average of .231.
As for Triway, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-6. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Triway's side, Maddy Moran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Kenzie Gatti made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ashley Braunscheidel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian Valley will face off against Beaver Local at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Braves' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Triway, they will challenge Norwayne at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
