The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Carson Keith, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 21 points. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Koby Keiswetter, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 12 points and eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Hill City was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Quinter ultimately got the result they hoped for two weeks ago. They secured a 72-67 W over Greeley County. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Hill City better focus on containing Shea S Salyers and Gunner Catura as the pair were huge in Quinter's win. S Salyers dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards, while Catura went 7 of 10 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds. With that strong performance, S Salyers is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Caedmon Bridges, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and five steals.
Hill City's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3. As for Quinter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Hill City has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25 boards per game. However, it's not like Quinter struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
