Softball Recap: Moore Haven Has No Trouble Against East Lee County

Moore Haven never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against East Lee County on Tuesday. They blew past the Jaguars 21-2. Considering the Terriers have won four contests by more than 11 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Preslynn Baker and Brooklyn Sergent made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Baker struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Sergent tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Baker scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Sergent scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave Sergent a new career-high.

In other batting news, Moore Haven got a massive performance out of Truley Osceola, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Prowant, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.

Moore Haven always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Lee County only posted an OBP of .267.

Moore Haven's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for East Lee County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Moore Haven has already played their next game, an 8-1 loss against Riverdale on the 2nd. As for East Lee County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 41-35 win against Lehigh on the 3rd.
