West came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 62.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 42-0 victory over the Granger Lancers. The Panthers pushed the score to 28-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lancers had little chance of recovering from.
A big part of West's win came down to the chemistry between Louie Hamilton and his top target Kamden Lopati. Hamilton rushed for 230 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.5 yards per carry while Lopati rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. That's the most rushing yards Lopati has posted since back in September of 2024. West also got help from King Long, who showed off his sure hands for 87 receiving yards.
West was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 388 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Granger only rushed for 162.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to West's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Takeshi Savery and Dieter Lotulelei, who racked up four sacks between them. The game marked Savery's first with multiple sacks this season. Darious Watson was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
West's record now sits at 8-1. As for Granger, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3.
