Biglerville is 2-8 against Fairfield since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Canners will square off against the Knights at 4:15 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Biglerville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over Hanover on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Canners with their most commanding win of the season.
Sydney McCleaf made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). McCleaf was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Peterson, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Jenna Walter, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Biglerville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .324 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Fairfield beat York County Tech 10-5 on Wednesday.
Like Biglerville, Fairfield also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddy Payne. She struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). With that strong performance, Payne is now averaging an impressive 5.7 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Addison Welch was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Sydney Kreitz also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Fairfield pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Biglerville, their record is now 6-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Biglerville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .435. However, it's not like Fairfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Biglerville beat Fairfield 7-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Canners since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
