The Union County Patriots scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took down Union City 50-36. The win was some much needed relief for Union County as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the loss, Union City still got an impressive performance from Luane Schoonbroodt, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 44.4% of Union City's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Union County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12. As for Union City, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union County will take on Knightstown at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Union City, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Seton Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th.
