Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the River Valley Vikings, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 48-30 bruising from Van Wert on Friday. River Valley just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
It was another big night for Brylen Parker, who rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes. Keldyn Bill was another key contributor, rushing for 97 yards and three touchdowns.
River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Van Wert, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
River Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Van Wert will head out on the road to face off against Shelby at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shelby will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
